Stories from the past
about art and artists in B.C.
Eve's
This column was published in The Artist's Journal from 1997 to 2001 (see the links below). You may remember some of the artists I mention, and you may even be mentioned yourself! I enjoyed writing Easel Talk: I loved the chatty "sittin' round the campfire" feel of it. However, I discontinued the column because hunting for stories became very time-consuming, especially trying to find them from all over the province. Unfortunately, lack of time forced me to stick close to home when looking for 'stories.' And since this was a BC-wide publication, it wasn't fair to my province-wide readers that the stories were mostly from the lower mainland. I eventually replaced Easel Talk with art cartoons and other features.
I've reproduced all those columns below. Settle into a comfortable chair and start scrolling through the selections. Enjoy!
