Eve Lees is predominantly a Health Writer & Speaker but also enjoys pursuing her hobbies of Graphic Design and Portrait Painting.
Eve was raised in a newspaper publishing family and at a young age learned all aspects of producing newspapers. This developed her interest in writing and graphic design. After studying journalism in college, Eve began her career as a newspaper reporter and then became a newspaper editor. At the same time, she pursued her interest in health & fitness, working part-time as a fitness instructor and operating a health food store, Eve's Natural Foods.
In the mid-1980s, Eve left the newspaper industry for a full-time career in fitness. She went back to school to study exercise physiology and nutrition and became certified in Fitness Instruction and Nutrition Coaching. Eve was a Fitness Centre Manager, worked as a Fitness Instructor, a Personal Trainer, and a Nutrition Coach. But she continued to use her journalism training as a Freelance Health Writer.
Today, Eve writes a regular health column for several publications. And although she is no longer a Personal Trainer or Nutrition Coach, she continues to offer Health Talks to businesses, organizations and private groups.
In addition, Eve maintains a small client base of regular Graphic Design clients. She is also a self-taught artist who began to draw and paint as a child. Eve continues that hobby to the present day as a commissioned portrait artist. And she has combined
several of her interests (art, writing, graphic design) to self-publish The Artist's Journal a BC-wide Calls for Entry newsletter.
